The basic aim of the e-Participation Pilot Actions 2007 is to set the stage for the realization of a pan-European, Internet based system aimed at improving the legislation quality and the public participation in decision making processes. Targeted topics should be especially relevant at Community – not just Member State or local – level, and this is the case with the IDEAL-EU project.
Moreover, it is expected from the Pilot Actions to demonstrate real and concrete cases where “with the help of modern ICT tools and applications, the legislative process and the resulting legislation can be improved and the participation of the public (citizens, businesses, civil society, NGOs, socio-economic and political groups, etc) in the decision-making process can be enhanced”. This is also a requirement we want to comply with.
